I was discussing with someone today why it is that you cannot love your neighbor if you fear him or fear what he may do (or not do), that you cannot spread love in a cage of fear.
If you fear your neighbor to much to trust him to care for his fellow man, then you cannot possibly love him. If you fear him to much to trust him to care for himself, then you cannot possibly love him.
So don’t talk to me about loving your fellow man if you believe that the rest of us require a government to do what it right.
Today I gave away $200 in free labor for my fellow man because they were good people who deserved a break. How can I be my brother’s keeper if some anonymous group of thugs jump in steal my money and then dole it out in a way that they think my brother deserves (after they take their cut to buy more guns).
I don’t need a government to force me to do good–do you?
Imagine there’s no countries
It isn’t hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace…
You may say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope someday you’ll join us
And the world will be as one
